COLOSSIANS | WEEK FIVE
Day One: Read: Colossians 3:18-4:1. How does the concept of doing all things for God’s glory change the way we view our roles? In what ways are you living as people-pleasers versus a God-pleaser? How are you honoring God in your current roles?
Day Two: Read: Colossians 4:2-4. How should thanksgiving shape your prayers? In what ways are you praying for believers? How does the fact that Paul was writing this letter in prison impact the way you view his message on the fullness of Christ?
Day Three: Read: Colossians 4:5-6. How does making a good use of the time we have been given manifest itself through walking in wisdom toward outsiders? How are you living in a way that impacts “outsiders” who don’t yet know Jesus Christ? Explore the idea of having your speech being seasoned with salt.
Day Four: Read: Colossians 4:7-13. How does Paul’s mention of specific people in the church at Colossae teach you about serving in the local body of believers? In what ways are you serving and struggling on behalf of others? Recall Epaphras’ role in Colossians 1:7. How did he serve willingly in the church? How did his service for Christ impact others?
Day Five: Read: Colossians 4:14-18. How are you encouraging and being encouraged by other believers in your local church body? What can we learn from the way Paul cared more about the gospel being proclaimed than the comfort of his own circumstances? In light of what we have learned in this letter from Paul to the church at Colossae, how can we walk in grace?
