Introducing Our Design Intern!

August 14, 2015  - By Well-Watered Women

God has given us big dreams for the future – bigger than we could ever accomplish on our own. That is the beauty about God-sized dream – they require Him to make them happen. At the end of the day, I want to look back on all I have done and give God the praise, knowing I could not have dreamed, worked, or made anything happen apart from Him. As God has continued to grow Life Lived Beautifully, it has been a joy to add women to the team! Our desire is to reach as many women as possible with the gospel, and through adding to our team, we will be able to create more tools and resources for women. My hearts starts beating fast just thinking about what God will do in the coming year! For now, it is a privilege to introduce our design intern, Taylor Carpenter! Grab your cup of coffee and get to know Taylor.

Introduce yourself like we are having a cup of coffee together. What kind of coffee/tea would you drink?

Hello! My name is Taylor Carpenter.  I am going to be a senior in college this fall and am studying communications and graphic design.  I grew up in southern Maryland and then attended Liberty University for the past three years.  This fall, I am going to be finishing my degree online while working in the middle school ministry at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN.  I love painting, designing, crafting, being outside, talking, and drinking coffee!  My favorite cup of coffee would be anything with coconut in it!

What does a normal day in your life look like?

Working in a student ministry makes every day look different, but full of life, craziness, and a lot of fun.  Most days are spent planning events, hanging out with students, designing, and if I have free time, crafting.

What is your definition of a “life lived beautifully?

My definition of a Life Lived Beautifully would be a life that reflects and rests in Jesus.  A life that consumes itself with the joy and grace that is only found in Jesus Christ.  A life that pursues joy in all circumstances, and loves well.  A life that strives to know Jesus even in the midst of craziness, and that understands even when we fall short of that, their is beauty ahead in the hope of Jesus Christ.

When did you start following Jesus?

I grew up in a christian home, where I learned about Jesus at a very young age, but thought a lot of that meant upholding high standards and striving for perfection.  I struggled a lot with anxiety and seeking perfection in middle school and high school, because I believed my relationship with Jesus was built on that.  It was later in high school, that I finally heard and understood the truth of the gospel, and that was that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, to meet us where we were, no matter where we are.  For the first time I understood His grace, which allowed me to see my purpose in glorifying and pursuing Him!

What are some verses you cling to?

Pretty much all of Romans 8 but specifically Romans 8:38-39, 2 Peter 1:5-7, and Romans 12:9-13.

What are some of your favorite books?

Some of my favorite books are Crazy Love, The Bait of Satan, Lady in Waiting, and Forgotten God!

If you could tell every woman reading this blog one thing God has laid on your heart, what would it be?

One thing the Lord has really pressed into every area of my life recently is that He is the only one and the only thing that can satisfy us.  One thing girls seek, is satisfaction in every area of life except The Lord.  But there is nothing, no boy, no child, no item, no attention, no success, that will ever satisfy like the love and hope of Jesus Christ!
