{Fresh}

April 10, 2014  - By Gretchen Saffles

I love mornings with an insane amount of love.

My love for the dawning of a new day runs so deep that at nighttime I look forward to waking up to a fresh new start and the smell of coffee brewing. Before any night people tune me out, there’s a reason for my love. The wee morning hours are the quietest moments of the day. Most of the world is still sleeping and it is easier for me to hear the Lord speaking. When I read His Word early in the morning, before my day begins, my ears are in tune to His voice and my heart ready to learn something new.

quiet timeFresh starts are an incredible gift of the grace of God. I don’t think we take advantage of them enough. As a matter of fact, lately I have realized how often I live in the “old flesh” as if God hasn’t given me the strength I need to overcome struggles, fears or worries. The fresh new perspective I get each morning is available at any time of day and at any point in life. God’s new mercies will never run out and His grace will never run dry. Lamentations 3:22-23 says:

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;Β they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

I am currently in a season of life that has made me extremely aware of my need to run to throne of grace and lay myself at Jesus feet each day. For a while God has been calling me to walk on water, but I’ve fixed my eyes on the waves and the unknown beneath my feet. Life Lived Beautifully is taking on a new direction and purpose, one that I believe will bring God glory and help LLB friends and followers to grow in their walk with Christ. I need you to join me on this fresh, new journey! Here are a few ways you can join in:

  1. Pray. If the Lord lays it on your heart, would you pray for wisdom, direction and creativity?
  2. Tell. My passion has always been to study God’s Word. I would love to hear from you what your morning routine looks like and what your perfect journal would look like!
  3. Share. The vision of Life Lived Beautifully is to encourage women to fall head over heels in love with Jesus and to grow deeper in their daily walk with Him. Through social media, stationery, prints and future products, my aim is light a fire in your heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus through serving others, treasuring the life He’s given us and enjoying the presence of God. Would you share about Life Lived Beautifully with your friends?

Whatever He has called you to in this season of life, remember that His mercies are new each day. If He is calling you to walk on water, tread through the valleys and run through flowery fields, know that He is with you.

I’m on this journey with you, for the glory of God, for the fame of Jesus.

Love,

Gretchen
