Good Morning, Sisters! I am beyond excited to begin studying 1 John with you tomorrow! It is my deepest joy to grow in our love for Christ together through the study of His Word. Through the years, I have learned that there is no substitute for God’s Word. No book can ever compare to God’s holy love letter written to us. We meet with Him when we study His Word. We hear Him when we read Scripture. We receive guidance when we memorize His truth. We find hope when we trust in His promises. The Word of God alive, never-failing, unfading, endures forever, has power to change us, is sharper than a two-edged sword and captivates our hearts (Hebrews 4:12, Isaiah 40:8, 1 Thessalonians 2:13) By it we are saved and by it we are moved. I pray that as we study 1 John, God would do a miraculous work in each of our hearts. 

You can grab your reading guide for the entire book here: 1 John Study Guide. Each day  (Monday – Friday), we will read through the passage and study it to glean everything we can from it! (If you don’t know how to study the Bible, read this post on “Drinking Deep from the Well” of God’s Word for ideas!) I will post a short devotional on the blog each morning as well as a picture with truth on Instagram. I would LOVE to hear what you are learning from your study as well! Let’s share what God is teaching us to encourage each other and grow in truth together.

Your homework for today is to read the entire book of 1 John out loud. Yes, out loud. You can read it throughout the day or in one sitting. You can also read it tomorrow morning. As you read and listen, write down repeated words and phrases. I did this yesterday and was amazed at what God revealed to me! Trust me, there is power in reading and hearing God’s Word!
