Last year I had the worst habit of waking up and scrolling on my phone first thing. I knew it wasn’t good for my soul, but I did in anyway. The warmth of my covers somehow lured me into staying “just a few minutes longer,” and my time with Jesus started to suffer. To be […]

#WORDbeforeworld: One Month and a World of Difference

In 1716, American revivalist preacher, theologian, and writer, Jonathan Edwards, penned a list of seventy “resolutions.” These resolutions, unlike most New Years Resolutions, were rooted deeply in a humble desire to obey God’s Word. Edwards began each of these resolutions with the simple word “resolved…” Resolve means to […]

I Resolve 2018: #Wordbeforeworld

That itch in your heart to live for something greater was put there for a reason. It isn’t to add more to your resume. It isn’t to make your name famous or accumulate wealth. It is impossible to fulfill on your own. The big dreams we have in our heart were meant to point us to Christ and to magnify him. John 15:5 is a reminder of this from Jesus: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” Apart from Christ we cannot fulfill our dreams and live abundantly. God created us with big dreams to teach us our need for Him, to show us that our life is about Him and to give us an opportunity to glorify Him when he makes them happen.

How to Lead When You are Young

I know the holidays are busy and time alone with Jesus is hard to come by…but that doesn’t mean we have to go through the holidays far from Him. We’ve got to fight for time with Him, and be flexible with what that looks like each day. Here are a few ways I fight for […]

Choosing Christ in the Christmas Chaos

We’ve all been there. Approaching Thanksgiving Day with a list of complaints piling up in our hearts, clouding our vision from what truly matters. I’ve walked through a lot of Thanksgivings struggling to be truly grateful, with my eyes set on the temporary and not the eternal. If you’re in the same boat, struggling to […]

How to Be Grateful When You’re Not

For the past three years I’ve been on an unexpected journey of being a “mamaprenuer”. In my own definition, a mamaprenuer is a stay-at-home mama who is at the same time an entrepreneur or business owner. She not only balances caring for a home and children, but she also regularly maintains a business (whether a […]

I keep reminding myself of this as I glance around at our deconstructed home. Boxes are currently surrounding me and my house looks as if a tornado hurled through it. These are the […]

Finding Stability in Transition

I’ve heard it too many times to count. Statements such as: “I’m a failure at Bible study…” “I just don’t understand anything when I read my Bible…” “Bible study just isn’t for me…” “I never finish a Bible study. I get discouraged by the middle of it and just set it […]
